What Form 28 Actually Covers

When You Need to File It
File Form 28 within the timeframe specified under the Companies Act 2017 after the board or members approve the address change (the specific approval process depends on whether the move is within the same province or across provincial lines, which can carry different procedural requirements). Same-Province vs. Cross-Province Moves
Moving your registered office within the same province is generally a more straightforward board-level decision. Moving to a different province typically requires member approval (a special resolution) in addition to board approval, since it can affect matters like the jurisdiction of courts and registrar oversight relevant to the company.
